Suomalainen Kirjakauppa Ltd has acquired the entire capital stock of Jamera Ltd in a transaction that came into effect on 1 June 2018. The acquisition comprised all of Jamera’s business operations, including its stores in Helsinki, Lahti, Tampere, Jyväskylä and Oulu, as well as the Jamera online store. Suomalainen Kirjakauppa is part of the Otava Group. Jamera will continue to operate as an independent unit and the transaction has no impact on personnel. As the owner, Suomalainen Kirjakauppa seeks to open up new opportunities to develop Jamera’s business operations.

Hanna Haukkapää starts as Jamera Ltd’s Managing Director on 1 June 2018. She has previously worked in book publishing as the Managing Director of Finn Lectura Ltd and has served as a fundraising specialist at UNICEF Finland. Jamera Ltd’s previous owners, Anne Maaninka, Janne Maaninka and Tuomas Lappalainen, will stay on at Jamera Ltd in an advisory capacity for the time being.
